How it differs from sterile water
Sterile water contains no preservative and is intended for single use, so it should be discarded once opened. Bacteriostatic water contains benzyl alcohol, which slows bacterial growth and allows the vial to be used more than once. The preservative is not suitable for every application, so check compatibility with your method.
